Privacy Policy
This course is free to read in full, with no account and no sign-in required. This page covers the one part of the site that does handle personal data: the optional newsletter signup.
A What we collect
Nothing, unless you choose to sign in with Google at the bottom of a chapter to be notified about new content. Reading every chapter, every drill and every diagram requires no account, no cookie consent banner and no personal data at all.
If you do sign in and tick the consent box, we store exactly this:
| Field | Source | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
email | Your Google account | Where to send the notification |
name | Your Google account | Personalising the email greeting |
consented_at | Recorded by us | Proof of when you agreed, in case it is ever disputed |
source | Recorded by us | Which page you subscribed from |
country | Recorded by us | Coarse only — which country your request came from, not a precise location |
We do not receive your Google password, your contacts, your files, or anything else in your Google account. The sign-in button uses Google's identity check for exactly one purpose: proving the email address is really yours, the same way clicking a confirmation link in an email would.
B Why we collect it
Solely to email you when a new chapter is published — expected to be roughly monthly, never more often. If a live session or workshop is ever run, the same list may be told about it. That is the entire use.
[+] What this is never used for
Your email is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party for their own marketing. It is not used to build an advertising profile. There are no ads on this site to target you with.
C Consent is separate from sign-in
Proving an email address belongs to you is not the same thing as agreeing to be emailed, and this site treats them as two different steps on purpose. The consent checkbox next to the sign-in button starts unticked. Signing in with Google without ticking it does nothing — no address is stored unless the box was checked first.
D Where it is stored
In Cloudflare Workers KV, a data store operated by Cloudflare and accessible only from this site's own backend code. There is no user-facing account system, no password to steal, and no profile page — there is simply nothing else on this site an attacker could reach by compromising a subscriber's entry.
E How long we keep it
For as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, the record is removed rather than merely marked inactive.
F Unsubscribing and deletion
Either of the following works:
- Click the unsubscribe link included in any email you receive from us.
- Email privacy@remainrelevant.net and ask to be removed. Expect a response within a few days.
G Cookies and analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to see, in aggregate, which chapters are being read. It is deliberately the cookieless kind: it cannot identify you individually, does not track you across other sites, and does not require a cookie consent banner because it does not use cookies at all.
There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no fingerprinting script anywhere on this site.
H Third parties involved
| Third party | Role |
|---|---|
| Verifies you control the email address at sign-in. Google does not receive your consent choice or any data you enter on this site. | |
| Cloudflare | Hosts the site, stores subscriber records, and provides the cookieless analytics described above. |
I Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters — a new use of the data, or a new third party — the date at the top of this page will change and, where practical, existing subscribers will be told by email.
